Instead of creating a fake “about me” section like I would when I was in high school that would involve a long, drawn out fictional biography of me growing up to be a famous clown who was once Bozo’s protege (I literally submitted a paper in high school that describes how badly I wanted to get into clown college), I am actually going to share some real facts that don’t involve clowns. To this day, I don’t know why I told my high school English teacher that I wanted to grow up to be a clown. Maybe it’s because I really didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Thankfully, I found what I was really passionate about and ditched my dreams of clowning around under the big top for teaching. I went from being a wacky kid who was unsure of what the future might bring to helping guide my own high school students to finding what path to take in life and I couldn’t be more happier.
Some things about me besides teaching and that are sans-clown, though I do like a good joke and clowning around, are that I was born and raised in San Diego and I love traveling, photography, music and the arts. In addition, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family. My favorite things to do with them are hiking, creating art, going to shows, watching classic movies, finding new eateries and exploring local, national as well as international places. Some places I have been outside the United States are the Philippines and Japan and I am hoping to explore more places soon and add more stamps to my passport. One of my favorite places to travel to is Hawaii. I’ve been there a couple of times and I fell in love with it’s beauty and friendly atmosphere.
Overall, I live for serendipitous moments and thrive on the magical memories. People, places, and experiences matter the most to me and I want to share what I am passionate about with the world or at least anyone who is interested in hearing about them.
